Dr. Victoria Udezi

Victoria Udezi, M.D., M.P.H., is an Assistant Professor and Associate Vice Chair of Community Health in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. 

She completed a residency in family medicine with a distinction in global health and community action research and a fellowship in community medicine, both at UT Southwestern. She also holds a master’s degree in public health with a global health concentration from UT Health Science Center at Houston. 

Dr. Udezi is committed to addressing health disparities and improving the physical and mental health status of the local and global community. She pursues this through trauma informed care, community engagement, research, and advocacy. As a family physician , she treats patients of every age, from newborns to older adults, and supports people with diverse physical and intellectual abilities, focusing on preventative care, total wellbeing and managing long-term health conditions for the whole family.

Her community-based participatory research aims to understand the health of diverse populations by investigating how trauma, stress, and social factors affect patient health outcomes. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, and the Texas Academy of Family Physicians.
